The development of a strategic planfor Maracay´s ECOPARQUE entails the design of a landscape projectwith recreational, sports and ecological interests, as well as itsintegration with the environmental and urban surroundings. Itincludes the social and educational activities necessary toguarantee the best use of the park and encourages the formation ofstrategic alliances for the implementation of such activities.

 

The project promotes Maracay as agreen and sustainable city through a the design of a park thatcomplements areas for sports and recreational use with ecologicaland social programs. In addition to the play fields, playgroundsand walkways, the park incorporates a water treatment plant, anenvironmental awareness path, an energy parks and a recyclingcenter.

 

The Metropolitan Park understandsthe Maracay River as part of a "Biological Corridor" betweenValencia Lake and the Henry Pittier National Park, forming part ofa system of green areas and public spaces for the City ofMaracay.
