The design for Bunch Bistro, in Miami Florida, defines distinct spaces for eating, drinking and shopping through contrasting surfaces between black and white, light and shadow. Focused spotlights project shadows on walls and textile cylinders cast diffuse ambient lighting in seating areas. A single wall runs along the entire length of the space and features a pattern of triangles made of string taught around raised nails that diminish in size as they progress along the surface. They generate a complex drawing of lines and shadows over a white surface that is reflected on the opposite wall as white lines over a dark surface.
