Pro Inclusion public policy: Practical tools for a holistic development of cities in Latin America

This research project commissioned by CAF Latin American Development Bank is focused on highlighting public policy executed in four cities of the region that have successfully advanced social inclusion. One of the greatest pending assignments on the development agenda is reducing social exclusion in cities. The experiences of Fortaleza Brazil, Guayaquil Ecuador, Medellin Colombia and Panama City Panama prove that better access to an integral education, public space, quality transportation, potable and waste water services are crucial toward reducing inequality. Maps and diagrams reveal the relationships that exist between development indicators and access to services and public facilities. Specific strategies are detailed to serve as replicable models for projects in other cities of the region.
