Interventions at La Hacienda la Trinidad
La Trinidad, Baruta - Caracas, Venezuela
2024
Hacienda La Trinidad Cultural Park, located in the Baruta Municipality of Caracas, Venezuela, is a cultural complex that has transformed an 18th century tobacco-producing hacienda into a vibrant cultural and recreational center. It is made up of colonial architecture, lush gardens, art galleries, workshops, artisan shops and cafes, in a welcoming area open to the public.
The objective of the interventions seeks to create an inclusive environment that allows all people to fully enjoy the cultural and recreational activities offered by this emblematic space. The proposal introduces a series of interventions that include ramps, railings and pavements. Materials are used that blend in with existing ones, such as iron, wood, stone, brick and concrete. Concrete, bricks and stones make up the pavements. Some ramps are adorned with leaf prints reflecting the hacienda's vegetation, such as fern and yagrumo. The railings are made with metal plates and wood.
These improvements seek to facilitate universal mobility, and generate diverse and accessible spaces for all visitors, maintaining the historical and cultural integrity of Hacienda La Trinidad.
