Enlace Arquitectura has been invited to the 17th International Architecture Exhibition Biennale di Venezia 2020, scheduled to open August 29, 2020. Curator Hashim Sarkis has chosen "How will we live together" as this year's central focus:  “We need a new spatial contract. In the context of widening political divides and growing economic inequalities, we call on architects to imagine spaces in which we can generously live together." Enlace Arquitectura is honored and grateful to be a part of this prestigious celebration of current practice.

The exhibition will feature the work derived from the Integration process Caracas IPC program in La Palomera with the Ethnobotanical Dictionary of plants from the gardens of La Palomera. The dictionary serves as a metaphor of acknowledgement of the barrioof informal settlement.

Barrio inhabitants of La Palomera know a lot about plants. They know the use of each species, and yet this familiarity with plants is increasingly scarce. Mapping and gathering information became the focus of survey work by Gabriel Nass, Amber Armas, Jaeson Montilla and Gabriela Álvarez, as an attempt to rescue and disseminate the value in 260 identified species. Some plants have medicinal qualities, others are good for cooking and others help ward off insects, animals and foul smells. It is a knowledge that may derive from the barrio residents’ close ties to the countryside, as descendants of those who came from rural areas to build and inhabit the city.
